One Place I Want to Go Most

I have never traveled Hong Kong before although it is so close to Taiwan. After listening to the presentation from my classmates last Saturday, I think that HK is an attractive place where I want to go most. It is a paradise of shopping and variety of foods. Because of Hong Kong is a duty-free port; you can buy clothes with cheaper price, and then enjoy the fun of bargain. Why I would like to visit HK? The reason is not only the short distance but also the similar culture to Taiwan.

Communication won't be the problem in Hong Kong at all. And the traveling fees also cheaper than other developed countries. If I have chance to go there, I will priority arrange to visit Disneyland with my kids. It offers a magical adventure in four theme lands. Even though it's not the biggest one in the world, but it still attracts many tourists to visit each year. From now on, I will open a traveling account to save more money, and then enjoy the wonderful vacation next year.

Vaccine Doubts

http://www.etaiwannews.com/etn/news_content.php?id=1142396&lang=eng_news
Following are the essay which extracted from the Taiwan News on internet:
"Pediatricians at major medical institutions confirmed yesterday that the number of school children receiving A(H1N1) vaccine shots has declined sharply over the past week, primarily due to concerns over the safety of the vaccine after the 7-year-old boy died several weeks after being immunized. The doctors, however, still recommended that parents should get their children immunized because the benefits far outweigh the risks."

What should I do? Everything has its risk, but when it happened again and again how could I believe that it will be safe. Students shouldn't treat as a tester for any uncertain issues. The official couldn't explain why so many cases have been occurred again and again. It's really hard to persuade everyone to believe it's the lowest risky.

I have two kids who are studying at elementary school. Of course, they all did the vaccine shots last month. When I saw the news which related with the children who suspected death of vaccine shots. I was so worried about it. I think that government shouldn't just try to carry out the policy, but have neither alternatives nor skills of problem-solving. After all,"A case involving human life is to be treated with the utmost care."

Greatest Invention

I think that internet is the greatest invention in human history. We can learn about anything without leaving home. And then communicate with friends or strangers on the other side of the world quickly and easily by using e-mail, MSN, Yahoo or Skype. There are many benifits you must know.

First, blog is so popular as well, and you can use this way to get close to your friends and your family. It saves our time to communite with each other. Second, any information you want to know, just surf the internet, then it will be quickly find the way out. Third, teachers assign homework via internet without paper. Also, bussiness can send files to other companies in a second. Moreover, if you like to share your photos, you can upload your pictures via internet too. And it's all for free.

The internet is helping worldwide to become a global village. It helps us to learn more about different cultures from other countries. I love chatting with friends via internet. Through internet, we can buy anything you need, and compare the price to other vendors. What a greatest invention we have! How did our forbear survive without it?

The New Years Resolution in 2010

Here are my two major resolutions that I am going to do next year.

The first one is “Get a better job”: I will participate in related courses to improve my expertise, and then keep going prepare English exam, and rewrite a resume. This year, we faced economic downturn. Unfortunately, I was the one of unemployed persons. I got a new job last month, but it’s a tough job and I thought I couldn’t overcome it. Therefore, I plan to get a better job next year.

The second one is “Memorize over 5000 vocabularies and read 5 English novels”: I will set a goal to memorize vocabularies which related with TOEIC testing as many as I could, and I hope I can get the TOEIC certificate before on April, 2010. Besides, I will read my top 5 English novels, and write down my comments on English blog. I believe that it can help me to improve the writing and reading skills. That’s my New Years resolutions, and I hope that I could achieve it.

The Important Decision in My Life

Have you ever had to make an important decision that would change your life? People make decisions all the time, but it is impossible to count how many decisions you have made in your lifetime. However, the most important decision can change your life and it can't be forgotten. The most important decision was I made up my mind to go back to school and I have been deeply affected by it.

It happened in 2008. I was a supervisor and worked for a NB OEM factory over ten years. One day, when we held a staff meeting and at the beginning of meeting, all the staffs were sat ready in the meeting room, and then gossiped about one of my colleagues has passed the exam of University and will major in Applied Foreign Languages. Everyone admired her for her determination. My boss suddenly sneered at me, and then said, “You will be impossible to go back to school because you were too busy to do that.” And he continued said, “You were a housewife! You would hardly make it” I couldn’t believe that he was so looked down his nose at me. I was depressed and angry. Finally, I realized that it’s the key reason why I always can’t get the promotion even though I worked so hard and did my best for my job for passed ten years. It’s really unfair.

After that, I decided to apply for the exam of Lunghwa University in the same year. Luckily, I passed the exam and majored in English as well. That’s really bracing me up. Time is short; I have studied at Lunghwa over one year. I never thought that I could overcome it, but I did it. The truth thing was I did play three roles: a mother, a housewife, and a working woman. That is really a biggest challenge to me in my life. I am exhausted, but I tell myself I wouldn’t give it up. Last year, I also faced our company’s merge to foreign company, and next I have been laid off on April, 2009. At last, I become an unemployed person until on October, 2009.

During unemployed period, I have a chance to look backward and forward carefully, and then thought about what the most important thing in my near future is. The answer was kept going back to school, learning English well. Because I went back to school for study, my English abilities have become more and more progressed. I also became more and more confident to speak English. The decision I made changing my life. Because of the background at Lunghwa University, I got a new job recently, although it’s a tough job, no matter I could conquer it or not. But I have confidence to face any difficult situation.

Most of people have to make important decisions during their lifetime, but people should be sure of what they choose because of it depends their happiness and joy.

Life is Short!

It's been a while I didn't went home to see my parents due to I was too busy to see them. I love my parents very much! They are very kind persons and they set a good example for me. They taught me a lot and told me that no matter anything you do,you have to be yourself, and being a responsible person. I also use this way to teach my kids. Today was another off day for school, so I decided to go home. When I called my mom, I could heard she was very happy. I arrived at home about 1:30 pm. After had lunch, mom told me that my cousin died in cancer last week. What a shock! How come? She just 30 years old. I don't know how to use the word to express my feelings. She was a good girl. That's really unfair! God bless her soul! Life is short! We should spare more time to get along with our family. There is Chinese proverb to say "The tree cannot be still for the wind. The child cannot support the parents for themselves." Please don't say "I don't have time!" If you want, time will be under your control!

The Election Day

Today was a election day,so we didn't have to go to school. I was happy and relaxed. Finally, I could take a break and enjoy this wonderful Saturday after a hard working in this month. I got up at 10:00am,then had breakfast with my kids and did my homework. Everything was perfect and felt great."No more job." I told myself. Recently, I wholly out of control in my new job, I did told my boss, I couldn't overcome this tough work, I wasn't the right person to take this job. I wanted to quit, but they disagreed with me. Time can prove everything, I hope I could get rid of it early so that I can concentrate on my study. Only half year left, then I can graduate from university. Therefore, I can't give it up. I know what I want that's why I insisit on my decision. To tell the truth, I have bad feeling for the situation that I have faced. Hope it will not come true. Whatever! Wonderful day shouldn't be wasted. I decided to take my kids went out for dinner, I really appreciated my family. Without their support, I couldn't imagine whether I can conquer it or not. I have a different feeling for the election, thanks official gave us this wonderful day. Although, I didn't go to voting.

Book Reviews-"Twilight"

1. Title: Twilight
2. Author: Stephenie Meyer
3. Publisher: Little Brown & Co
4. Date of Publication: November 1st, 2008
5. Pages: 498 pages
6. Major Characters:(refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twilight_(2008_film))
(1)Bella Swan, a seventeen-year-old girl who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington from Phoenix, Arizona and falls in love with a vampire, Edward Cullen
(2)Edward Cullen, a 108-year-old vampire who was changed in 1918 and still appears to be seventeen. He is Bella's love interest and has the ability to read minds, with the exception of Bella's, along with superhuman speed and strength.
(3)Carlisle Cullen, a compassionate 300-plus-year-old vampire who looks to be in his mid-20s. He serves as the town's physician and is the father figure of the Cullen family.
(4)Esme Cullen, Carlisle's vampire wife and a mother figure to the Cullen family.
(5)Alice Cullen, a vampire who can see the future based on decisions that people make.

7. Plot Summary:

Grade 9 Up–Headstrong, sun-loving, 17-year-old Bella declines her mom's invitation to move to Florida, and instead reluctantly opts to move to her dad's cabin in the dreary, rainy town of Forks, WA. She becomes intrigued with Edward Cullen, a distant, stylish, and disarmingly handsome senior, who is also a vampire. When he reveals that his specific clan hunts wildlife instead of humans, Bella deduces that she is safe from his blood-sucking instincts and therefore free to fall hopelessly in love with him. The feeling is mutual, and the resulting volatile romance smolders as they attempt to hide Edward's identity from her family and the rest of the school. Meyer adds an eerie new twist to the mismatched, star-crossed lovers theme: predator falls for prey, human falls for vampire. This tension strips away any pretense readers may have about the everyday teen romance novel, and kissing, touching, and talking take on an entirely new meaning when one small mistake could be life-threatening. Bella and Edward's struggle to make their relationship work becomes a struggle for survival, especially when vampires from an outside clan infiltrate the Cullen territory and head straight for her. As a result, the novel's danger-factor skyrockets as the excitement of secret love and hushed affection morphs into a terrifying race to stay alive. Realistic, subtle, succinct, and easy to
follow, Twilight will have readers dying to sink their teeth into it.

Comments:
After reading the story, I think that there are two reasons to explain "Why the Cullens can get along with people." The first reason is Carlisle's concepts. He believes that the Cullents all bring some fo the strongest human features with them inot the vampire's world-like minds, sensses, and precognition. The second reason is compassion and self-discipline. The Cullens exist without being devils and retain a basic component of human nature: sympathy. Therefore, Carlisle strongly opposes sucking human's blood because he believes that he can conquer his vampire destiny. Because of good education and self-discipline, the Cullens can escape that traditional vampire framework. That's the key reason why the Cullens can get along with human beings.

Required Homework in Colleges Classes is Necessary

Homework is very important for students around the world. Required homework is not only necessary for young children but also for the students of college. There is a proverb to say: “Practice makes perfect.” I believe that homework is a good way to gain more skills, get extra learning, and avoid wasting time. Therefore, there are three reasons to support my topic.
The first reason is explaining that homework can help students to develop good social skills, give students more opportunities to practice their skills, and also prepare them for any jobs they have in the future. My sister-in-law, a teacher of primary school, said, “Only you can put into practice what have you learned, then you will become more competitive in your job.”
The second reason is homework can keep students from watching television, playing computer games all day. The BBC reporter said: “The percentages of students studying less than one hour per week, it has nearly doubled (from 8.5 to 15.9 percent) over the past 15 years.” If they don’t have homework then they will spend their most of time in playing games, surf internet and spend precious time with friends without any reason. When they go back to school then they don’t like to study, furthermore, they would never go over their lessons.
The final reason is homework can give students the confidence they need. For instance, if they can pass a hard subject question, and then worked it out, they would have self-confidence.
In conclusion, required homework in college classes is necessary and very important; it can provide additional practice in solving problems, learning more techniques, making students less lazy and becoming more confident. Hence, it is the great way to gain more extra learning and shouldn’t be banned.

Communication and Higher EQ

One of our teacher gave us an assignment for the midterm about two weeks ago. He wanted us record our personal voice to the tape or MP3, then we have to organize some words to promote for the assigned advertisement within 30 seconds. That's the brand new experience. We never did it before; therefore, we need more clearly instruction to catch what teacher said, but when teacher couldn't specific defined what he wanted, then student must get lost, and don't know how to do it. That's why communication is very important.

In my point of view, people always afraid of facing unfamilier things. Especially for students, students always like to argue with teachers for the homework, and exam. I think that being a teacher must has higher EQ to deal with students for their requirements, not just like a child to do some unsuitable behavior. Following is my advertisement promotion hand script, I thought it's not difficult to do it. All the problems are communication.

Hand Script:

"Are you a “MAMMA MIA” fan? The Smash Hit Musical will coming on March 6th to 8th in Taipei Arena. Only three days, you must take your family, I guarantee they’ll love it! “MAMMA MIA! The fabulous, funny and irresistible musical. It’ll have you dancing out of the theatre. Click the mouse to the website IUauditorium.com on March 1st, you'll have a chance win free tickets."

Which one is important in my life?

What kind of job could let you felt so depressed and couldn't stand it anymore? Although,I have riched working experience for 17 years, but I never met this kind of job could be pushed me to the limit, and felt so helpless and useless. As teacher said in the class, "When you make a decision, then you have to be responsible and accept it." But the truth was I did made a decision when I have two job's opportunities to choose, then I made my decision. At that time, I believed that any problems could be solved, and I tried to overcome any kind of bad situation that I met. But it's failed. The root cause was the whole process in this job were totally wrong. The team work was bad, everyone just care about themselves. I couldn't imagine that why I have to stay up until midnight every day. It's out of my limit. Therefore, I told boss about my problems and I really need her help, but she just said, "you should raise you hand earlier!" My goodness,it's sound like I am a problem maker! It's unfair! I did said that before, but it didn't work, my team leader just ignore me. After thinking in these two days, I got to make a decision again. After all, I have two kids to raising, even though, money is important. But I have to spare more time for study. I want to stay healthy, if overtime till midnight will be a normal stiuation every day, it will be killed me! That's not what I want in my life! As no doubt, which one is important? I rather choose quit the job than stay up till midnight everyday.

The Toyota Way

Recently, I got a book from our company. It's called "The Toyota Way". I was surprised that I have been told I must to read it within two weeks and wrote it down with my comments, and then do presentation after next week. How can I use the limit time to read it. It's a big challenge. Why I said that was because I really exhausted in the past two weeks. I have overtime for my job until midnight every day. To tell the truth, I hope that I could get rid of it. But it's an assignment from my new company. I have to show something about it. Our VP said all team members have to study it. And list top three faults, then tell team members how to solve it. The only thing I can do is just quickly overview, make a point. It's the best way to achieve the target. The book is on my desk right now. I quickly overview it, and I found that I can learn many correct concept to improve my daily jobs. For example, in this book, they mention all procedure must consider about the cost and have to make a target and then expedite the procedure, and then do the right thing. It’s new start, I hope I can make it.

Without Political Motives?

I saw a news from "The China Post" on last Saturday; the front page was remarked about "U.S. Beef Imports Eased". Actually, it's an translated assignment from Journalism English. When I read the newspaper,I was shocked by paragraph of The China Post as follows:

"At present, Taiwan only allows imports of U.S. boneless beef that contain no SRMS and from cattle younger than 30 months. Under the terms of the new accord, U.S. bone-in beef, ground beef, intestines and processed beef that have not been contaminated with SRMs will also be allowed to enter Taiwan." -- from Front page of "The China Post", Oct 24, 2009.

I can't believe that our premier said- "he respects experts' decision on beef imports," But according to the past experience and research, U.S. beef still have potential danger in Mad Cow Disease. It's a kind of contagious disease, and it can't be destroied in high temperature; therefore, how to know U.S. beef has not been contaminated with SRMs? How to ensure the safty and persuade us to believe that all of Taiwanese consumers will not swallow the infective cow. I am really wondering and worried about it. This is because I think that it's a political consideration, if the official will not eat U.S. beef, how they could ask his people to swallow it? Please don't be a foolish person!

First Day of the Work

Today was my first day of the work. Everything seemed went well. I got up early in the morning, then I prepared all documents which requested by new company. I reported in duty on time. My heart was cheerful.

I just thinking that after being long unemployed person, I should happy that I finally could found a job, that's worth to celebrate it. Although I have more than 10 years' related experiences, but I have to submit the lower salary. Why? Because of six months unemployed period, it will let you down in the dumps. It almost destroyed your confidence. But I believe that if I could do my best effort in my duties, then it will be a good start.

When I came into the office with HR person, I was surprised that the office was messy and not tidy. “That’s fine.” I thought. Everyone seemed very busy; therefore, I sat on the chair then doing nothing. That’s really not a good example to treat a newcomer. They should introduce me to everyone, so that I could quickly familiar with all colleagues and environment. After two hours waiting, they wanted me to hand over the testing and packing’s functions immediately. How could I hand over all related process without computer? So, all I have to do was memorized it. But I can’t reach what she said. Oh, my god! What a messy day was! Who can help me to conquer it? I really need more time to find the way out. I believed that I could make it.
Go! Go!

Friend or Enemy?

Everyone may agree that we can't live without friends. We need friends to support and help each other not only in your daily life but also in your job career and school life. Recently, I felt so depressed because I met a new colleague in the new job. I tried to be friendly with her, but she seemed not accept me all the time. I didn't know why. Is it about my attitude? Is it about my behavior? Did I say something wrong? I was wondering and didn't know how to solve the bad relationship, even though I am an adult, and I have more social experience. To tell the truth, I am not good at to make friends, that's what I want to try my best to learn it more. Maybe I should ignore her reaction, but I can't. I am not angry with her, because I am old enough to be her aunt. I just tell myself "If you want people return the smile to you, you have to smile first!" "Forgive the person who hurt you, then you will be treat well yourself." After long consideration, I decided to give up this job opportunity, and choose the other new job. I don’t want to be her enemy. Please don’t misunderstanding, that’s not the key reason I want to quit the job. I just want to choose the more suitable job. Wishing all goes well.

New Semester and New Busy Life

The summer vacation will be ended in this weekend. I am still sitting right here and trying to do my fiftieth English essays. I am running out of my words, and don't know how to write my last one. "Yeap! Why not just write something about my training courses?" I was thinking...

Recently, I have taken training courses from Occupation Train Education Association for 39 days. The course is start from Monday to Friday at 9:00 am to 4:30 pm; it's really a hard work for me to sit right there all day. Then you have to pay your fully attention on the courses. I try to do my best to concentrate on the class. But I felt tired and exhausted. After all, it's not my expertise. As I said on the previous essay, it's really a brand new course for me. Luckily, our teachers are the best one, they teach us a lot of skills and encourage us; as they said -we should hang on and don't give it up! They shared their many experiance in seeking for new job.

Therefore, I made up my mind and set a new goal-I hope I can pass the TQC exam after the training course ended. But on this Saturday, I have to go back to LungHwa for new sememter, so how to balance the busy days between training course and LungHwa, it's a new topic to me. But I think I can overcome it.

Oiver finds it easy to love Jenny, but he can't learn to love his father. Jenny teaches Oliver about loving, about dying, about being strong. And Oliver learns that "Love means you never have to say you're sorry".

Comments:

My first contact with this book was when I was 18 and I bought it because it's an assignment from my English teacher. I never actually read the book, but I still remembered that I had seen the film when I was young. I found it on my book shelf last week; it filled with dust on the cover. When re-read this book, it recalls my old memories at that time. I tried to read it again, and it still touching my heart.

The catch phrase of the book, “Love means you never have to say you're sorry." That's right! I totally agree with Jennifer's concept. When you love someone with your true heart, then you will admire his/her virtue and accept his/her fault. I think that the greatest love in the world is parent's love. They love their children with their whole life. They always do their best to protect us. We should be treasure our families.

In this book, it has taught me a lot about how to build relationships and also how it can be the differences between two people that make them so close. It states so many points which are relevant to life. And I do know that it is the most touching book that I have ever read, and the one which has left the biggest impression on me.

Money Management

Money is a huge part of our life. It can determine what you can do and where you can go. Learning how to manage your money the right way is an important step toward taking control of your life. Understand where your money is coming from, where it going to, and how to make sure that the way you manage your money falls in line with the values that matter most to you.
There are three ways to help you manage money. First, make sure you know where your money is going - keep a note of all your incomings and spending. This will help you decide where you can cut back if you're living beyond your means. Second, the most important thing is avoiding unmanageable or crippling debts. That means high-interest debts such as credit cards, store cards, or loans that you don't really need. Before you want to save money, you should pay off those debts. Thirdly, once your debts are paid off, get yourself some money saved up for a rainy day. You really never know when you're going to have an emergency, or need that cash cushion.
In conclusion, manage your money will help you know what you want to do with money, where your money goes, and know how to save money for your goals.

Dumpling Party

I felt so happy and excited because all my best colleagues came to my house to join the dumpling party for lunch today. I got up early then went to the traditional market in the morning; I have to prepare all foods for over 15 persons. It's really a big challenge for me to prepare it for lunch . Time was short; I have to speed up my purchase action. When I came home, I felt so nervours and didn't know why. Things became messy. What should I do first? God helps me! Suddenly, the door bell was ringing..., Oh! My helpers were coming here. They came here to rescue me. Yeah! I loved them!

We have to prepare the material one by one. First of all, the most important part of dumpling was meat; you have to put it with some soy, peppers, spring onions, ginger, sugar, and sesame oil, then I put it altogether and mixed it up. After that, we washed one big cabbage and cut it up as thin as we can, and then we put it into the big bowl and put two spoons of salt then mixed it up until it has became soft and juicy. At last, we have to dry it, then put all cabbages into meat. Finally, mixed it up again and then it ready for the dumplings.

All guests were coming, it's been a while we didn't talk each other face to face since four months ago. The reason was we have been laid off at that time. That's why we so treasure our friendship. After all, we had worked together over 8 to 10 years. When we worked together, we have same common, and helped each other. But now, we all left. I think it's a good way for us to connect each other and keep the long good relationship. Today, we were happy. I hope we can continue the friendship forever and ever. Keep in touch, my friends! No matter where you go, or facing any difficult problems, just call me! I will do my best to support you just like you do it for me. And I hope you all enjoyed my dumpling party. Welcome you all come to my home again.

I wanted to thank my good helpers-Miffy, Rain, and Snow, especially for Miffy, you are experter. You helped me a lot. May I know who's the lucky guy can marry you?

Training Course

I have entered into an AutoCAD training course for three days. It's held by government's institute, and it's free for persons who were thrown into unemployment and we can get 60% of living allowance. It's a good chance for me to gain more other skills to improve my capability. I felt so tired because I was too lazy to read for the past three months. In the whole summer vacation, except for house keeping, taking care of my children, and cooking, I almost stayed at home and watched TV all day, then being a couch potato. I do have plan for study in the first begin summer day, i.e. I set a goal to read three English novels, memorized 100 words at lease in summer vacation. Unfortunately, I was too lazy to do it. It’s really not a good example for my kids. That’s why I decided to applied for the training course. I never learn about mechanical drawing, I was so excited, because it's a brand new experience. I have never to join this kind of course. When I came to the class on 7/21, I felt the place was too small, but I think it's not a big deal, after all, it's a free course and you can overcome it. After the first day, I realized that I need doing more effort to learn this training course. it's not easy for me to understand what teacher's saying. I think that maybe I am too old to learn. I told myself-"Don't give up! Just do it! You can make it." I hope I can learn it well and join the TQC testing after the 50 days. That's my goal, and I belive that "when there is a will, there is a way."

"Two Weeks"

What's meaning for the birth and death? Birth means living and joyful; death means ending and sad. Most of people are afraid of talking about the death issue. Including me, I never thought that if I am going to die, what’s the most important thing I want to do? But now, when I saw a movie from Star Movie channel on TV last week, I realized that we didn’t have to afraid of death, death means to continue your love. I think that how to express your love to your family is more important than anything.
The movie was called-"Two Weeks" which talked about a mother who got a cancer and will die after two weeks. Therefore, her four adult children return home to take care of her. The mother knew that the death will come and knock at her door, but she didn’t afraid of it. On the other hand, she accept it bravely, and only one thing she want to do was she hope her children must get together and love each other forever and ever. When she hung on, her four children found them trapped together and didn’t know how to handle it for two weeks, and they struggled to deal with their mother’s illness.
Finally, they realized why their mother wants to record the video tape before she got sick. I love this movie. It was so touching my heart, and my eyes brimming with tear. I am a mother, too. I knew why she wanted to show her thinking and feeling on the video tape. She wants her children become strong and she loves them forever and ever, even though she will die after two weeks. Recommend you watch it.

The Simpsons Movie

In the first place, there was a performing on the Springfield Lake, everybody enjoyed listening to music. When the rock band would like to say something about the environment, audiences were silent at that moment, then things became out of control, everyone throw their garbage at the lake, then one guy said that “Pollution in your lake, it is dissolving our barge.” Then, all members of band were killed because of the toxic lake. Although it overstated the plot, but I think that the author wants to convey the serious problem to people who do not care about our environmental pollution.

I was impressed on the another scene, when the EPA captured the squirrel which has thousand eyes, and then the head of EPA proposes five unthinkable options to President, but the President just random choice one and said “I was elected to lead, not to read.” The author wants to convey that the politicians always only care about the power and benefits, but don’t care about citizens are dead or live.

I had never seen the Simpson before, but when I watched it I was surprised at how much funny it is but I think when Bart is riding his skateboard naked, it was really too exaggerated, but it made me laugh. I like this movie because it use humor, irony, overstating and funny methods to highlight and express the serious problem of the environment and use irony to mock politicians. Also, it shows about family love and the relationship between parents and children.

Humor is a Way for People to Connect

As no doubt, humor is the best way to socialize and connect with people easily. In my opinion, making friends is not always easy. It depends on how outgoing you are. The person who has humor is always popular in the group, and easy to socialize with other people.

First, humor is the way for people to socialize- when I was in senior high school, I joined the party where have many people. I was not good at to socialize with big group because I didn’t know how to make jokes or say something funny. But now, I love use humor to socialize with people, it is best way to make friends when you are go into the strange environment.

Second, humor is also the way for people to connect and bond each other- why the TV show which have humor and funny are so popular with audience? That is because they use humor and irony methods to express the today’s phenomenon. Most of audiences love this kind of methods because people are very busy in the daily life; we need some funny things to release the pressure. When I am angry at my kids’ behavior, my husband will say some humor words to reconcile conflict. I feel we are more bonding each other.

Finally, having a sense of humor is important, but don't get too carried away, there are some things you have to be serious about. If you joke about your friend in a rude way it could damage your relationship with them.

Book Review-"Millions" (Part II)

Comments:

I think that it’s an amazing, funny, horrifying, fantastical, realistic, sad, touching, and shocking story. When Damian talks about any topic, he likes to start with the patron saint of the story. His big brother, Anthony, is into money and investments, but Damian is fascinated by saints. As this story begins, the boys' mother has died. They've moved with their father into a new house and started attending a new school. As mostly parents in the world, they always want their children to be excellent and good. Being good parents are not an easy job, especially live in the competing world. You have to earn more money to raise your children, set a good example for them, and take care of them with full attention. Sometimes I feel exhausted, but I love being a parent.

In the story, Damian’s Dad has instructed Damian to be excellent and he tries very hard to be good, partly because he's afraid his father will vanish, as his mother did, if he fails. To that end, he answers his teacher in class in such long-winded detail or is so "quiet" that his teacher is concerned.

Damian builds a hermitage. There, he has visions of saints. When the saints talk to him, he always asks if they've seen his mother. Obviously, he was missing her mother very much; therefore, he focused on the biography of saints and hope can see his mother someday.
One night, Damian is in his hermitage, praying. The train thunders past. A bag with millions of the old-fashioned pound notes --- an unbelievable fortune! Damian believes it's a direct gift from God in sympathy for the death of his mother.

Damian and Anthony don't tell their father of their sudden wealth out of concern for taxes. They discuss all they can buy: sea monkeys, fancy bikes, cell phones, computer games, houses. They must spend their wealth in 17 days, because when the new money system goes into effect, their notes will be worthless. Life becomes more and more complicated when thieves and police enter the picture.

The brothers treat school kids to soft drinks, and then bribe them for favors. Damian and Anthony buy their classmates' belongings for huge prices. Soon, they're lying to their father about where all their new toys have come from. Damian wryly notes that there's no patron saint of lying.

I've never read anything remotely like it. It’s a truly excellent read. If you incidentally get vast money and you have to spend it out within 17 days. What would you do? It’s really interesting. Just think about it. It’s a good book, recommend you to read it.

Book Review-"Millions" (Part I)

1. Title: Millions
2. Author: Frank Cottrell Boyce
3. Publisher: Macmillan (UK version)
4. Date of Publication: February 6, 2004
5. Pages: 250 pages
6. Major Characters:
◎ Damian- a 7-year-old boy, who found a bag of money flung from a passing train.
◎ Anthony- Damian’s brother, who is the selfish and wants the money only for himself and his entertainment.

7. Plot Summary:
“Millions” tells the story of 7-year-old Damian, whose family moves to the suburbs of Widnes after the death of his mother. Soon after the move, Damian's "hermitage" is obliterated by a bag of money flung from a passing train. Damian immediately shows the money to his brother, Anthony, and the two begin thinking of what to do with it. Anthony, the selfish one, wants the money only for himself and his entertainment.

Damian, the kind-hearted and religious of the two, had recently overheard three Latter-day Saint missionaries lecture other members of the community on building foundations of rock rather than foundations of sand, an old Christian principle which dictates that self-worth should be based on the teachings of Christ rather than any other object of worship such as Money/Mammon or Power. The lecture inspires Damian, who is particularly enamored with the missionaries because of the name of their church; Damian is obsessed with saints, studying their biographies and even seeing them in his day-to-day activities as visions. He immediately begins looking for ways to give his share of the money to the poor; at one point he even stuffs a bundle of cash through the missionaries' letter box, having heard about their modest lifestyle and deciding that they too must be poor.

Throughout the story, Damian commits small acts of kindness like buying birds from pet stores and setting them free and taking beggars to Pizza Hut, while Anthony bribes other kids at school into being his transportation and bodyguards, and looks into investing the money in real estate.
The story takes place within a few weeks of The Bank of England's (fictional) change from the pound (£) to the euro (€). An assembly is held at Damian's school to inform the children about the change, as well as to educate the children about helping the poor. Realizing that the money, which is in pounds, will be no good after a few days, Damian decides that the best thing to do would be to give it all to the poor before the conversion. Upon deciding this, he drops £3,000 into the donation can at the assembly, for which he gets into trouble. When Damian goes into the principal's office, Anthony lies, stating that he and Damian stole the money from the Mormons (to protect Damian). Damian and Anthony are grounded that night.

After the donation, Anthony's friend informs them that a train carrying bills which were to be destroyed after the conversion had been robbed, and that the money had been dispersed by throwing it off of the train at various locations throughout the country to be collected by the robbers. The boys logically conclude that their money was stolen, and Damian, who thought the money was from God, feels terrible.

Around this time, a mysterious man comes snooping around the train tracks and asks Damian if he has any money. Damian thinks that the man is a beggar and tells him he has 'loads of money'. However, Anthony finds out and comes back to give the man a jar full of coins to cover Damian's tracks.

The robber eventually finds out where Damian lives and ransacks his house to find the money. Damian had informed his father about the money just before they came home to their destroyed house. Damian's father, who had resolved to give the money back, decided that if the robbers were going to steal his family's Christmas, then he would steal the robbers' money. The family, as well as the father’s new girlfriend, goes on a massive shopping spree on Christmas Eve.

That night, after they are asleep, their house is bombarded by beggars and charities begging for contributions, and seeing the confusion that results, Damian runs off to the train tracks to burn the money, deciding that it was doing more harm than good. While he is burning the money, he is visited by his dead mother, who tells him not to worry about her. This is not out of the ordinary in the scope of the story; Damian is visited by numerous dead saints throughout the story, a phenomenon never explained as either hallucinatory or genuine and used instead as a light-hearted device used to show Damian's purity. Damian's mother also tells him that he was her miracle, which is significant because in Catholicism, performing a miracle is a requirement for becoming a saint.

In the final scene Damian's dream of the family flying a rocket ship to Africa and helping develop water wells is seen, which earlier in the book is shown to be the most crucial and cheapest way to drastically improve the quality of life for many African communities.

What Is Team Work?

Teamwork is defined in Webster's New World Dictionary as "a joint action by a group of people, in which each person subordinates his or her individual interests and opinions to the unity and efficiency of the group."

This does not mean that the individual is no longer important; however, it does mean that effective and efficient teamwork goes beyond individual accomplishments. The most effective teamwork is produced when all the individuals involved coordinate their contributions and work towards a common goal.

Teamwork has become an important part of the working culture and many businesses now look at teamwork skills when evaluating a person for employment. Most companies realize that teamwork is important because either the product is sufficiently complex that it requires a team with multiple skills to produce, and a better product will result when a team approach is taken.

Therefore, it is important that students learn to function in a team environment so that they will have teamwork skill when they enter the workforce. Also, research tells us that students learn best from tasks that involve doing tasks and involve social interactions.

The importance of teamwork is presented in every seminar you attend or business book you read. Without teamwork, houses take longer to build. Companies are passed by their competition. Without teamwork, people lose their inspiration. There is proverb to say "Union is strength."

Where and When Do You Think That Sending or Receiving Calls Should Not Be Allowed?

I think that you are not supported to use your phons on an airplane. When phones ping for signals at 35,000 feet, they can hit hundreds of towers at once. It also might interfere with communication with air traffic control; therefore, you are not allowed use it on the airplane.

Almost people have a cellular phone, but a lot of people are very selfish when they talk on their phones. They don't care about other people's feeling and talk loudly. It's really impolite. When you are on the MRT or in the restaurants, you should keep the voice down. I think there should be a rule that all phones must be turned off in the movie theaters.

Have You Ever Seen a Famous Person?

I haven't ever met a famous person. But I have ever seen a famous person who name is Jolin. She is a famous singer in Taiwan. I saw her at a outdoor concert in 2007. The concert was hold by Taoyu County to celebrate Happy New Year in 2008. But many people came to join the concert, we just saw her from stage far away. My kids were disappointed, because they couldn't see their favorite super star in front of stage. My kids can singing each song by Jolin, if they could pay more attention in study than adore super star, that will be great! If we have a chance to join the concert next time, I swear I wouldn't go to this kind of concert again. Even though it's for free. It doesn't worth and waste my time because there are too many people in the concert you can't enjoy your time. I would rather watch TV at home than go to concert.

What Should You Do When You Have a Cold?

When I catch a cold, I would drink a lot of hot water, and protect my neck from cold and wind by wearing scarf; of course, taking a lot of vitamin C, it also a good way to make you feel better.

If I am still not getting better, then I will go to see a doctor, taking some medicines as doctor's instruction. If possible, I will take a day off and getting enough sleep will also help.

There is a lot of traditional methods you can do, if you catch a cold, but not very serious. You might have heard from your mother or your grandmother in the past that chicken soup is the cure for the common cold. Also, you can make a cup of hot tea with honey; it might let you feel better. But no matter how to use the way to abate your cold, I think you should see a doctor, you never know that what has happened, it could be viral fever. Take care!

Should Gambling Be Legal?

I think that gambling should be legal. Gambling has been around for thousands of years. As long as there have been games, races, or competitions, people have gambled on the results. Briefly, people like to bet. In fact, I believe that gambling is part of human nature.

Since people will gamble whether it is legal or not, then it is best to legalize it and let the government regulate it. If gambling is illegal, then it will just go underground. On the other hand, legalized gambling, the government can make laws to control it.

Finally, if gambling is legal, then the government can tax this activity. This will provide the government with a great way to increase tax revenues. And the money that is collected from taxes on gambling can be used to build new schoods, roads, and libraries, which will benefit everyone.

Dogs And Cats As a Pet

Most people have raised dogs or cats as a pet. Some people like to raise a dog, but some people like to raise cats instead. When you consider raising dogs or cats as a pet, you need to know what their differences between dogs and cats are. Then you can decide which one is suitable for you.

Firstly, dogs need taken for walks so it's good exercise for the owner, but cats can go out and do their business by themselves. Secondly, dogs can learn tricks, then you can take them to dog shows, whereas you can’t teach cats to learn tricks easily; they are happy to entertain themselves by sleeping and hunting, but they quickly learn what they are allowed to do and not do.

Finally, dogs can guard your house. However, some cats spend their entire time outdoors only coming back for food.In conclusion, the dog’s characters are unlike cat’s characters. Dogs are passionate and dependent, but cats are emotionless and independent. If you want to choose one of them as a pet, you have to think about their difference, and then select which one is your favorite.

The Target Will be Achieved!

I never thought that I could finish 33 English essays by myself, and put them into my own English blog. It's broken my personal record. It is really cheered me up and finds a lot of fulfillment. In the past months, I tried to do my best to find the topic then wrote it. Sometimes I got stuck, and didn't know how to do it; but finally, I can solve it and learn more writing skill from internet, books or other persons.

Only write more than seven essays including this one. Then I can achieve the teacher's assignment. So I have to keep going to write it, I believe that I can do it at the end of May. Gradually, I feel that I could more and more easily to express my feeling.

It's a good experience in writing, and I think it also a good way to practice it. To tell the truth, I think I have become a person who loves to write in English, no matter how good or bad grammar is. But if someone can give me some comments to my grammar of essays anytime, that will be more perfect!

Give Them a Big Hand!

As you know, thousands of puppies are bought every day everywhere in Taiwan. But when cute puppies grow up; they become more and more bigger and difficult to look after. As a result, many are abandoned on the streets. Therefore, people who want a dog as pet should consider adopting an adult dog from a shelter before they want to purchase a puppy.

If people adopt an adult dog as a pet, they will know exactly what they are getting. They can see the dog's character, size, and health, and decide if it suits their lifestyle. I think that there would be fewer dogs to be mercy killing, and fewer dogs on the street. If more people adopted adult dogs from shelter, breeders would have to produce fewer puppies. It would help reduce the number of stray dogs.

In conclusion, adopting adult dogs from shelters instead of buying puppies from pet stores would reduce suffering, save money, and help keep our cities become more beautiful. Please love your dog then don't abandond them. They are your faithful friends.

Ways to Cool Off from the Summer Heat

Taiwan's sumer heat always makes me tired and uncomfortable. Hence, every summer weekend, my family and I will sometimes go to Tai-Mao shopping mall which has an air conditioning, then enjoyed cooling day. You can stay here all day, just eating and shopping whatever you want.

Except chilling with your family in an air-conditioned shopping mall, the most popular way to cool off is to take a dip. The ocean is always cooler than the summer, and rivers also are a good place to wash away the heat, especially in the montains; I also like to go mountain-climbing with my kids. It provides a great escape from the hot city. Maybe you could splash out for a trip to a water park in summer vacation.

I think that if you can't get out of the city, then ate ice-cream or shaved-ice will be the best way to cool down from inside out. Or you could relax in swimming pool. So, what's you plan in this summer vacation?

More Than a Pet

I remember that I had seen a Japanese movie from movie theater about five years ago-The Quill, a tear-jerking movie based on the true story of a loyal Labrador guide dog whose life was dedicated to helping the visually challenged. After I saw this movies, it was really touching my heart; how loyal and lovely dog it is! I think that dogs are the best friend of us. No matter how its master treat it, it always shakes its tail and stands by your side, as if it is a innocent child.

This Japanese film not only started a fad in Taiwan for Labrador puppies but also raised awareness of the issue of guide dogs in our society. Guide dogs are professionally trained service animals. The most common breeds are Labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, and German shepherds.

After the film was shown, then a lot of people started to raise Labrador. After that, we can see more and more Larbrador dogs, golden retrievers have been abandoned due to their master have not enough space to raise them or didn't have patience, just because their impulses. How come so cruel
to do with them! They are not just a pet, they are like your child. I think government should make a law to prevent it.

Why They Took So Long to do it?

Today was my first interview since I have been laid off last month. I got up at 7:00 in the morning, brushing my teeth, washing my face, dressing up then make-up. I looked at myself from mirror-I looked so good! Everything was perfect!

I arrived at the company at 9:30 on time, and they wanted me to fill in the application. After that, they asked me to wait just a moment. Of course, I should wait for the interviewer; after all, I have waited for one month, that's not big deal for me...no problem at all. I thought that busy was a good things. And time has gone by slowly, I checked my watch, it almost 10:30. That is to say, I was waiting for one hour. Yeap, let's ok. But if the receptionist could tell me what happened, I would appreciate; I thought maybe she was too busy.

Finally, my interviewer was coming, then he talked to me and asked me some questions, then introduced the job duties. I thought that everything was went well. After that, he said his director will come to talk to me for more details, and he wanted me wait a moment. Sure, why not! That meant I have a big chance to get the job. So, I waited and waited and time went by. It seemed that I was not exist.

I felt so tired, because I didn't ate breakfast in the morning, no water to drink. It's 11:40 am at this moment, then the receptionist finally took me to the meeting room, and talked me the reason why I have to wait so long. OK, I thought"Busy is good things!" Ten minutes later, he showed up. Everything seemed went well too, he seemed very satisfied with my experience, but when we talked about the salary, he answered me I have to talk with their HR; I have a bad feeling, it's weird! So, he went out the meeting room, then of course, I waited again.....after ten minutes, he showed up again and said to me that their VP was not in the office at that time, I have to talked with him, and will make another day for interview again. And the time was at 12:15.

What's going on? Why they have no right to decide the salary should pay for me? They even didn't ask me how much money I can accept it. Yeah, I knew that maybe that's their excuses, but they seemed not wise and I can say they are a little bit awful. I just wondered why they took so long for the interview? Something wrong with their HR process. It almost took three hours. If I was not qualify for the position, they wouldn't talk to me again and again. Maybe they have to compare with another applicants. Never mind, I can wait for it. No matter have chance or not! It's a good experiance for me. I have learnt something from it.

My Heart was Bleeding!

I didn't went out to buy some essentials over two weeks. I checked my refrigerator out but it was nothing in it. So, I decided to buy some articles for daily use yesterday. I usually ride my motorcycle to go shopping, because it can save a lot of gasoline fees, and you don't have to worry about parking space. Especially for the tough day within this unemployed time period. I have to try to save my pocket for everything. Even though I have a governmental relief payment, but I must save more money for any possible rainy day!

I have a lot of essentials have to buy; therefore, I have no choice but to drive my car to go shopping. Something happened at that time and I even didn't knew it. When I finished the shopping then got ready to drive my car...I was shocked! Because I found my car's right tire from back was totally damaged. Oh my God~! What should I do? It's 3:30pm in the afternoon, I have to pick up my children, they were waiting for me. I become nervous, then I made a phoned call to my husband. As you know, women are not familiar with the car things, especially for me! I am a Car Idiot! My husband saved my life!

Finally, we have my car fixed, and checked another tires for safety. Then my husband decided to change another three tires; of course, the totally repaired fees were eight thousand dollars for four tires. My heart was bleeding! When can I earn that money back!

I Wish I Have a Good Luck!

I answered a phone call that came from one of my apply for companies in this afternoon, I was surprised and excited. They made a appointment with me for interview the day after tomorrow. After a long... long waiting, I finally got a response from one of hired companies. But I have a little nervous, because I almost forgot how to prepare the interview; I had worked for my previous company since 1996. It's been a long time I didn't looking for a job. I even didn't have formal suit to wear. How do I prepare my interview?

To be honest, I haven't enough confident. Whatever! the first thing is I should calm down then check any possible information for this company from internet. Secondly, you have to know what you want and your capability. Thirdly, prepare any possible questions which interviewer could ask you. I think that is important thing you have to do.

There is a Chinese proverb to say "Know your enemy and know yourself, and you can fight a hundred battles without defeat." I hope I would have good luck for the interview on 5/14. I am looking forward to visiting this company. God bless me!

Happy Family Day!

The weather was fair yesterday and my kids's school was took a day off; therefore, I decided to go with my kids to the Mu Zha Zoo. It's been a while I didn't took my kids to do outdoor activities. Because I was busy in my job and have to go to school on Saturday and Sunday. It's a good chance I have free time to be with my kids. Because I was a unemployed person currently.

We got up early in the morning, prepared some cookies and two bottles of water, then I drove and arrived at zoo around 10:30 am, my kids were very exciting because they can finally see pandas-their Chinese name are "團團" and "圓圓". Luckily, there were not too many people in the zoo; therefore, we can see the panda not too difficult.

I thought that panda was the most cutest animal in the world when I first met them in the zoo, but I didn't like the zoo has time limit to see them, we only saw them about 2 minutes, and just saw their back! And you can not go back to see them again! My kids felt disappointed! It's really unreasonab!

But I think that the most important things was I can spare my free time and be with my kids, that's the point! Even though we didn't have enough time to see the panda. But we can finally see koalas, penguins easily, you didn't have to line up all day, just for one minute! When does the panda come into disfavor? Maybe they find a dinosaur!?

Is It Difficult to be a Parent?

Yes, of course. I think that it is really difficult to be a parent. There are some reasons to support my point of view. First of all, you have to set a good example for your children. You can't speak bad words or doing rude behaviors which you are not allow your children to do it. Otherwise, you will find out that your children are going to copy your behavior as well.

Secondly, you will never have free time for yourself anymore, when you have children. You have to get up early to do breakfast in the morning and take your kids to go to school; then you have to prepare lunch or dinner when your kids went home after school. After that, you have to do a lot of houseworks in the evening; you rarely have free time to do your personal things, i.e. go shopping, have a date with your friends and sleeping all day..etc. That's really terrible.

Finally, you have to pay more patience and responsibility to teach them many things and take care of them; of course, you also have to earn more money to raise your kids. That's really difficult to be a parent. Do you agree with me?

Bicycle Routes in Taiwan

While I was a child, the bicycle was a much enjoyed plaything for many of us. We all have one rusting away in the garage. But, when you thought the bike was pedaling its way into yesteryear, it reappears in Taiwan with a fresh new look and become more and more popular.

Fourteen years ago, the chairman of Giant Bicycles, King Liu, established the Giant Sports Foundation that promised to transform Taiwan into a "bicycle kingdom." With government support, the foundation has since helped promote cycling to become one of the most popular weekend recreational activities. Hence, more and more bicycle routes have been set up in Taiwan. And the Taipei City has begun increasing the number of bicycle racks at MRT stops, and even allowing cyclists to take their bikes on the train at certain stations. I think that it is very convenient for the riders can take their bikes to go everywhere.

There are many recommended bicycle routes in Taiwan, but the most recommended bicycle routes in Taiwan is Hualian County. It's called "Hualian Port Scenic Route"-five star route famous for its dazzling scenic variety. You will see the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, the majesty of the Meilun River, and the beauty of the Hualian shoreline. This interesting route also crosses paths with a historical railway. I love this kind of route, it's can really make you relax. So, why not ride your bicycle and experience it for yourself!

What would you do if you won the lottery?

If I won the lottery, there are a lot of things I want to do it. First of all, I would quit the job, and then go with my family to travel around the world. Especially for Paris, it's a romantic country; I hope someday I can go there. After that, I would buy a beautiful island, build a wonderful villa, and enjoy my wonderful life. Second, I would save some money in the bank for rainy days. Third, of course, I would donate some money to charities and save a lot of poor people around the world. If I won the lottery, I wouldn't worry about when I can find the job. That will be a great thing and why not just go out to buy a piece of lottery. Yeah, give yourself a little hope, it will be funny. God bless me!

Bad Mood!

Two weeks have passed by, I am still sitting right here and doing nothing. I have sent my resume out many times to apply for any opportunities, but it's still no any return. Why? I wonderred. Something wrong with my data? I guess, but I need someone can give a suggestion, tell me why and how to do it. Is it the problem with my experiences? my age? or my capability? My feeling has turned from happy to worried; I felt anxious, my confident is missing gradually. I even didn't know how to handle my problems. I try to make a list to find the way out--What's my capability? What's my weakness? my strength? How can I do? What is the best for me? But ....I finally realized that I can do nothing!! I never regret to choose leaving. Because I think I have to change my life. It's a challenge, I have to learn how to take it and make my goals carry out. It's a crue world, you know? You have to continue improving your professional knowledge, trying to learn other different speciality. Yes, that's right. I will go to the government's training institutes to apply for some courses.

1.6 mil. children under 12 using the Internet in Taiwan

"According to a 2009 report of the Taiwan Network Information Center (TNIC), 1.04 million children under the age of 12 were Internet users in 2004. Five years later, that figure has risen to 1.6 million, with a growth rate of approximately 54 percent, it said. "(from http://www.studentpost.com.tw/news/default.asp?sIssue=1124)

I was surprised and worried when I saw this news. To be a mom, I don't want my kids to spend too much time to surf internet, then ingore their responsibility. You have to make a rule for them, and watch them. On the other hand, internet is good and become very convenience for everyone to check anything you want to know. Unfortunately, it also have many traps for teenagers, let them addict to the games, chat rooms, and blue films...etc. Parents should be careful and pay more attention to care about your kids what they are doing, to avoid your kids addicting to those games, and teaching them how to protect themself. I think that we all have to take it seriously.

It's time to make a plan

When I was a junior high school student, I can play baseball. I was a pitcher on the baseball team at our school. But we never won the games, it's too shame. After graduated, I never play it anymore. Eventhough we didn't won the game, but I missed that time period that we practice together, and I enjoyed it. I also can play badminton, it's my favorite ones. I always play it with my family on holiday. But recently, I go back to school to learn more English courses; therefore, I rarely have time to play it with my kids. Doing exercise is good for your health, I think that I will have much time to do it right now. Because I am an unemployed person. I should make a schedule to do execrise, yeap...I have many plans have to do...Let me think about it.

The First Day of Unemployment

Today is my first day of unemplyment. Everyone seems same as normal-get up early in the morning, take kids to school, then go to work.

But for me, I can sleep late, kiss goodbye with my kids and my husband. Yeah! I can finally get rid of the hard/unreasonable job-overtime day after day without call-back pay, and no backup person to fully support you. I never feared hardships. But to be honest, I was sick and tired of my job for a while, but don't misunderstand--of course, I was reluctant to give my job away, after all, I have taken care of it for 13 years, and I believed that I was doing well. I love my job!! The reason why I so eagerly quit the job is because I was disappointed with someone's policy-- Thoughtlessly and shilly-shally; It's normal situation when you heard about the instruction will be changed again and again, everything is out of control, for the team, it's really hard to follow it up; therefore, I decided to be laid off, I don't want to be added in the employee list.

Maybe you think I was so stupid, why not just hang on it, you have economic pressure, you have to raise your two kids, it's not a good time to find a new job in this economic downturn. Well, thanks but no thanks. It's hard to explain what I thought. Sometimes, you have to make a choice, no matter good or bad, you have to take it and enjoy it. The relaxation is for a high quality life.

Exciting Day!

Today is an exciting day! We didn't have to work because we all took a job-seeking leave and got together to gossip about everything.
It's been a while I didn't went out with my friends, because I have to take care of my kids, go to work, and go back to school on Saturday and Sunday.
To be honest, I really have a lot of pressure in this couple of months, and I am going to crazy. It's time to release the pressure. We went to one of my colleagues's home, and bought pizzas, a lot of fruit, drinks, and cookies. Then we went to KTV to sing a song and got rid of every uncomfortable thing which happened at work. It's really a exciting and happy day. My colleagues, we are the best of Service team, no one can deny it, we have worked together for 10 years. It's time to say good-bye and take care!

How nice you are!

In this month, I heard the words-"How nice you are!" "You are a nice person." for several times. Normally, it's a compliment. I think that everyone likes to hear it, but for me after I faced the embarrassed situation in this morning, I really want to say that I don't like it. Maybe I think too much. Maybe...but I felt so sad and my feeling got hurt again. I am too easy believing someone, and not good at negotiate with craftiness person. I try to trust them, the result is they just treat me like a silly girl, the purpose they want to do is obtain the benefit from you, they don't care how you feel and I almost to become a victim. They just set me up on purpose, and let me jump into this trap. I am really so stupid, I made a terrible mistake.

He blame on me. I tried to explain the cause and effect, but he didn't want to listen to what I said. I felt so frustrated. And then, I can't stand for it anymore, I have lost my temper. I spoken to him louder and louder on the phone. He knew I was angry, then we stop talking. So, I slow down my voice, and explain to him. Luckily, I can prove my words is true. The email will be shown everything what I said.
All the things happened today, let me learn about something. Don't trust the fist meet person who say a sweet/compliment words to you. Be careful, maybe he/she is on-going to set you up on purpose. "Silence is golden."

Forecast always is a forecast

To whom may concerned,

We did have put the monthly rolling forecast into your site since X company time period till now, some parts are missed it's because customer's rush order, customers didn't provide forecast for us and sometimes it's quality issues, it's the root cause that we can't predict exactly.

Frankly speaking, we are facing the bad situation due to the policy has been changed during this x'fer time period, and we had gotten the insturction that we were not allow to do too more potential forecast unless our customers can provide their forecast for us. Unfortunately, most of them didn't/unwilling provide the forecast for us; therefore, we have no choice to adopt the conservative methods to do the demand.

Moreover, "Forecast always is a forecast", especially for Service demands, though we had predicted the forecast by ourselves. Yes, most of projects has been EOPL, but it doesn't mean Service is end of life, and we still have to do five to seven years service life, how we could build over 100 projects which still in service period by one time and take the high risky for our inventory$, it's really unacceptable, it must be increased our huge inventory cost.

We will do our best to push our customers provide us with forecast in the near future, and will try to calculate more positive forecast, but please be understood that we really need you all to pay more attention for service demands, and thanks for all of you for the fully support.

I rememberred that we have deal the rule with your site's colleagues- if it's EOPL products, when customers still have Service demands, we will follow the new build lead time which confirmed by your site, normally it's one month, and we are still following up this rule.

Deeply sorry for this inconvenience, and will overall to review the EOPL project as soon as we can.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

When people say that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, they mean that the person who complains or protests the loudest attracts attention and service. At work, if you always keep silent, just work hard. Then your boss maybe thought that you don't mind your salary, your promotion...etc. They will give you more and more jobs to you, and you will feel exhausting, then you afriad of to talk with your boss. God bless you! you should speak up to get what you want. According to my working experiance of thirteen years, I alway can see that those of colleagues who complains or protests the loudest, they always can be watched and got the promotion promptly. Then others will jealous, but afriad of speak it out.

We always afriad of to talk with other persons what's your really feeling, what are you thinking? We always afriad of to express your feelings to someone you care. That's too bad! I think. Life is short, we should not only to express yourself in your job but also grasp best moment with your love and friends. One thing I have to remind you that once you try to let your boss know your complains, please make sure you have confident that you really are a valuable person for your company, or maybe you are the next one to be laid off! Good luck!

How I Spend a Typical Day

I am in charge of material forecast and inventory control at Global Service Center. My position is a supervisor. I usually arrive at the office at 8:30. When I arrive at the office, I turn on my NB, then check my emails and reply or assign the issues to my team members and follow it up.

After that, I call a staff meeting with my team to discuss the Daily Production Schedule and to see any pending issues which need to be solved. Then, I check my agenda and make some phone calls to related department to check the material shortage status and push buyers to get the ETD from vendors as quickly as they can. After that, I update the shortage report to Sales department and commit the delivery schedule, then make sure the goods will be delivered on time.

Also, I have to review the inventory status and generate the excess report to director and financial department. According to the excess list then to deal with vendors and try to sell out the excess parts so that can reduce the inventory amount. During the break time in the afternoon, I have a cup of coffee, then have a meeting with Service Center in China to discuss the new project’s material preparation and confirm the target date, then announce the meeting minutes to related person. That’s my typical day. Busy and tired!!

The Comparison of Job between a Human Resource Officer and a Fashion Buyer

As a human resources (HR) officer, you must have a clear understanding of your organization's business objectives and be able to devise and implement policies which select, develop and retain the right staff needed to meet these objectives. The advantages are to learn about each organization’s vision, mission and value; the disadvantage is that you will be given a lot of responsibility at an early stage, and the job is invariable.

As a fashion buyer, they must have ability to find out what the key items of the season are and to see how people shop. Also, they work with design team and suppliers to put together a range. The advantage is you can learn more about the fashion, and the job is flexible. The disadvantage is always under pressure than HR officer.

In conclusion, HR officer provides administration services for the recruitment and employment of staff. Fashion buyer got to know what these key items are and then translate them into the right fabric, shape, and price. No matter how the job is, it’s depends on what kind of jobs you are interested or not.

An Inconvenient Truth Comments

I think that overall it's a good film, actually, it explains the facts very well, Gore tried to highlight the problems we have had on the earth. We have to face up our environment has been destroyed rapidly. For instance, greenhouse gas had caused the effect of global warming. The temperature has became more and more high than before; then more and more disasters caused many people died-e.g. hurricanes, tornadoes, typhoons. Recently, you can hear the news from TV, i.e. the glacier are melting rapidly.

Some people maybe disagree with Gore's presentation, but no matter whether the film is political, scientific, or real, misleading; global warming is there, and you can see that it has impacted our livelihood. No one can deny it.
To be a member of global village, everyone has responsibility to protect our environment and confront the global warming's crisis, we should work together to find the way out, then solve the problems.

Six children cannot take care of one mother?

I think that it depends on the relationship between the parent and the children. If it was a bad relationship then I believe that most children will not take care of the parent. I think a good indicator is how close the children live to the parent.

When children grow up and become adults, they usually have their own lives, most of them tear themselves away from their native place, or move out from parents's house.

However, it is unfortunate that the "normal" way of life these days puts a lot of pressure on adults,it is hard enough for a child to take care of their own children, let alone their aging parents.

I think that each of the six children has different priorities. Some may be relieved that they have a sibling who will take care of Mom so they don't have to.

Personally, I am raising my children to be competent, responsible, and independent. I never want to be a burden to them when they are grown and have their own families. But, I would hope that I raised them to always love and respect me enough that they would want to help me when I am aging if I needed them.

My Identities

My English name is Kitty Hsu. I live in Kwei-Shan County. My hobbies are reading, singing, watch movies, and cook delicious foods for my family. I have two daughters. They are study at elementary school.

Currently, I work for a NB ODM(Original Design Manufacturing ) factory and I am in charge of material planning for Global Service Center. I have been assigned a supervisor for one years

I think that I am serious and strict person when I work, I always demand my subordinates and myself must do our best for the job and have positive attitudes to solve the problems.
When I came back home, I think that I am a chattering person, because my kids always disorder their stuffs after school, and their bedroom always messy. It makes me going to crazy.

But when I meet with my friends, I think that I am easygoing and friendly person, so I have a lot of friends. I think that there are all my identities.

Troubled Society

I saw the horrible news from TV last night. An unemployed man randomly chose landlords from advertisement of internet, then pretended that he wanted to rent a house and murdered the landlord and tried to kill his wife and son as well. What's wrong with our society? It's really sick in this world. When he was caught by police, I was shocked that the reason why he murdered the victims is because he lost his job for a while and he had bad experience to be defrauded over million dollars; therefore, he have to kill somebody to extend his angry to relsease his pressure.
I think that government have to expedite their policy of economy, try to figure out the efficiency policy to save people, or more and more unemployed person will lose their patience and make more and more troubles in our society.

Stand by your side!

When you were born, "An Ku....." that's a nickname that I always calling you. Every night, when you fell asleep, I always love to look at you lovely face with smiling. I knew that you are my whole life and nothing can stop loving you. When you both grow up, everytime you was crying or facing frustrated situation, I will hug you and kiss you again and again, and try to make you happy, then you turn tears into smiles immediately and said "Momy, I love you." When I felt tired after work, you always ran to me and hug me with arms. Finally, I realized that everything is worth for me. I was so happy even though I was tired. You are so sweet, I want you to know that I love you all very much, no matter how difficult in the future, I will support you. Don't give up, Be strong. You will have your own life in the future, momy will stand by your side and watching you, supporting you whenever and forever with my deeply love~

Everything is out of control

I think that busy is good thing for me, it means that you are a lucky guy who didn't yet to be fired, you still can keep the job, earn more money to raise your children, to pay the bills; you don't need to worry about your future's life temporary; especially for the current bad situation of global economic downturn, it was really terrible. But when our manpowers have been decreased from 100 person to 8 person gradually, I felt so sad and angry. I felt sad is because we have worked together for more than ten years, we are families, and have same common, but right now we have to say good bye again and again. I felt angry is because they don't care about our feelings, especially for the person who have to stay. We are overloading with our duties. Overtime without call-back pay is a normal situation and happened to every day. I am going to crazy right now, I don't have any backup person to help me, and I have to hand over all jobs to China, resell all excess stock to brokers, coordinate with vendors for the stortage status and feedback to customer, so many things have to do, and everything is out of control. How can I do?, what should I do? Somebody helps me. Please.....

Do You Prefer Coffee or Tea?

Yes, I prefer tea. Green tea is my favorite ones. I always make a cup of green tea and sit on the sofa, then watch TV every night. It can make me feel relaxing when I smell and taste the tea. According to the researcher's report, tea is good for your health. It can prevent the cancers, and prolong your life. Green tea is also popular in Japan. If you have been to Japan, you would see they must have a cup of tea after meals. But if I feel tired at work, I would have a cup of coffee to refresh my mind. Coffee has more stronger caffeine than tea to refresh your tired body, but no matter what kind of drinks you do like, don't drink too much, or it will bad for your body.

It is an animated movie. I saw this movie from HBO. I like this kind of movie; it is really proper you and your kids to watch it together. In this animated movie, Mumble is an Emperor penguin who has a big problem. He doesn’t possess the ability to sing like other penguins. Instead, he can tap dance. He is totally different with other penguins, he likes dance. Because this different feature, everyone thinks that he was strange and don’t really like him. He felt frustrated, and he decided to travel around the world. Then, he meets new friends who accept him with open arms. With his newfound pals, Mumble goes in search of the true cause of the famine. How to learn English?

Most people have a biggest problem in learning a new language is their own fear. They always worry that they wont’ say it correctly or will look stupid, so they don’t talk at all. Yes, I also have this problem, too. How can I overcome it? I always try to talk to myself-“Never to do this again, be braved!”, “Practice will make everything perfect.” When you learn everything, please do it again and again until you get it right. Don’t let a little fear stop your learning.

There are many different ways you can improve your English. You can use as many tools and methods as possible. I think that surf the English web site is a fantastic resource for your English learning. Also, here is another way to learn English: to surround yourself with everything in English. Try to take note in English, writing in English, put English books around your room, listen to ICRT radio broadcast, watch English news- i.e. CNN, varied movies and television. Of course, you have to begin “Thinking in English”.

My favorite way to learn English is watching English films or television. This is not only a fun way to learn but it is also very effective. You can learn it to expand your vocabulary and hear the different accents. One way to improve your English comprehension is listen to English music and singing it. I also like this way to improve my English sentences, vocabulary. Studying English novels, memorized more vocabularies and doing exercises are necessary, too.

Finally, I want to say is speak it out, after all, language is a communication skill, you have to talk with other people, then to learn how to deal with people. Have fun!

Mission Impossible Job

On this Monday morning, when I arrive at the office. My boss told me that we have to emergent disposal all obsoleted inventory(totally pallets*325) within two days, no any excuse!! How come! I thought...we are just got the best quotation from buyer in this morning, and on going to define the obsolete process from system. Everything is just beginning for us, we even didn't prepare paperwork for application. It's really a nightmare, especially for the bad situtaion-the lack of manpower. I am so worried about it. But there is a word to say: "Rule 1: Boss is always right. Rule 2: If boss is wrong, please refer to rule 1."

I have to follow up my boss's instruction, and do my best to figure out the solution, it's really a big challenge to me, because I have never done that before. Especially it's a very big big money.... I don't want to get in trouble. It's really out of my duty, but I have to take care of it, because the reason of rule 1+ rule 2. Right?! So...I contact with other related department, con-call with them, then check with financial department for the correct process. Two days later, we tried to solved the problems... finally, we finished this "Mission Impossible Job" by today. God bless us! I want to say thanks for my colleagues, without their assistance it's really impossible to finish this job. I hope everything is going well.
