What Is Team Work?

Teamwork is defined in Webster's New World Dictionary as "a joint action by a group of people, in which each person subordinates his or her individual interests and opinions to the unity and efficiency of the group."

This does not mean that the individual is no longer important; however, it does mean that effective and efficient teamwork goes beyond individual accomplishments. The most effective teamwork is produced when all the individuals involved coordinate their contributions and work towards a common goal.

Teamwork has become an important part of the working culture and many businesses now look at teamwork skills when evaluating a person for employment. Most companies realize that teamwork is important because either the product is sufficiently complex that it requires a team with multiple skills to produce, and a better product will result when a team approach is taken.

Therefore, it is important that students learn to function in a team environment so that they will have teamwork skill when they enter the workforce. Also, research tells us that students learn best from tasks that involve doing tasks and involve social interactions.

The importance of teamwork is presented in every seminar you attend or business book you read. Without teamwork, houses take longer to build. Companies are passed by their competition. Without teamwork, people lose their inspiration. There is proverb to say "Union is strength."

Where and When Do You Think That Sending or Receiving Calls Should Not Be Allowed?

I think that you are not supported to use your phons on an airplane. When phones ping for signals at 35,000 feet, they can hit hundreds of towers at once. It also might interfere with communication with air traffic control; therefore, you are not allowed use it on the airplane.

Almost people have a cellular phone, but a lot of people are very selfish when they talk on their phones. They don't care about other people's feeling and talk loudly. It's really impolite. When you are on the MRT or in the restaurants, you should keep the voice down. I think there should be a rule that all phones must be turned off in the movie theaters.

Have You Ever Seen a Famous Person?

I haven't ever met a famous person. But I have ever seen a famous person who name is Jolin. She is a famous singer in Taiwan. I saw her at a outdoor concert in 2007. The concert was hold by Taoyu County to celebrate Happy New Year in 2008. But many people came to join the concert, we just saw her from stage far away. My kids were disappointed, because they couldn't see their favorite super star in front of stage. My kids can singing each song by Jolin, if they could pay more attention in study than adore super star, that will be great! If we have a chance to join the concert next time, I swear I wouldn't go to this kind of concert again. Even though it's for free. It doesn't worth and waste my time because there are too many people in the concert you can't enjoy your time. I would rather watch TV at home than go to concert.

What Should You Do When You Have a Cold?

When I catch a cold, I would drink a lot of hot water, and protect my neck from cold and wind by wearing scarf; of course, taking a lot of vitamin C, it also a good way to make you feel better.

If I am still not getting better, then I will go to see a doctor, taking some medicines as doctor's instruction. If possible, I will take a day off and getting enough sleep will also help.

There is a lot of traditional methods you can do, if you catch a cold, but not very serious. You might have heard from your mother or your grandmother in the past that chicken soup is the cure for the common cold. Also, you can make a cup of hot tea with honey; it might let you feel better. But no matter how to use the way to abate your cold, I think you should see a doctor, you never know that what has happened, it could be viral fever. Take care!

Should Gambling Be Legal?

I think that gambling should be legal. Gambling has been around for thousands of years. As long as there have been games, races, or competitions, people have gambled on the results. Briefly, people like to bet. In fact, I believe that gambling is part of human nature.

Since people will gamble whether it is legal or not, then it is best to legalize it and let the government regulate it. If gambling is illegal, then it will just go underground. On the other hand, legalized gambling, the government can make laws to control it.

Finally, if gambling is legal, then the government can tax this activity. This will provide the government with a great way to increase tax revenues. And the money that is collected from taxes on gambling can be used to build new schoods, roads, and libraries, which will benefit everyone.

Dogs And Cats As a Pet

Most people have raised dogs or cats as a pet. Some people like to raise a dog, but some people like to raise cats instead. When you consider raising dogs or cats as a pet, you need to know what their differences between dogs and cats are. Then you can decide which one is suitable for you.

Firstly, dogs need taken for walks so it's good exercise for the owner, but cats can go out and do their business by themselves. Secondly, dogs can learn tricks, then you can take them to dog shows, whereas you can’t teach cats to learn tricks easily; they are happy to entertain themselves by sleeping and hunting, but they quickly learn what they are allowed to do and not do.

Finally, dogs can guard your house. However, some cats spend their entire time outdoors only coming back for food.In conclusion, the dog’s characters are unlike cat’s characters. Dogs are passionate and dependent, but cats are emotionless and independent. If you want to choose one of them as a pet, you have to think about their difference, and then select which one is your favorite.

The Target Will be Achieved!

I never thought that I could finish 33 English essays by myself, and put them into my own English blog. It's broken my personal record. It is really cheered me up and finds a lot of fulfillment. In the past months, I tried to do my best to find the topic then wrote it. Sometimes I got stuck, and didn't know how to do it; but finally, I can solve it and learn more writing skill from internet, books or other persons.

Only write more than seven essays including this one. Then I can achieve the teacher's assignment. So I have to keep going to write it, I believe that I can do it at the end of May. Gradually, I feel that I could more and more easily to express my feeling.

It's a good experience in writing, and I think it also a good way to practice it. To tell the truth, I think I have become a person who loves to write in English, no matter how good or bad grammar is. But if someone can give me some comments to my grammar of essays anytime, that will be more perfect!

Give Them a Big Hand!

As you know, thousands of puppies are bought every day everywhere in Taiwan. But when cute puppies grow up; they become more and more bigger and difficult to look after. As a result, many are abandoned on the streets. Therefore, people who want a dog as pet should consider adopting an adult dog from a shelter before they want to purchase a puppy.

If people adopt an adult dog as a pet, they will know exactly what they are getting. They can see the dog's character, size, and health, and decide if it suits their lifestyle. I think that there would be fewer dogs to be mercy killing, and fewer dogs on the street. If more people adopted adult dogs from shelter, breeders would have to produce fewer puppies. It would help reduce the number of stray dogs.

In conclusion, adopting adult dogs from shelters instead of buying puppies from pet stores would reduce suffering, save money, and help keep our cities become more beautiful. Please love your dog then don't abandond them. They are your faithful friends.

Ways to Cool Off from the Summer Heat

Taiwan's sumer heat always makes me tired and uncomfortable. Hence, every summer weekend, my family and I will sometimes go to Tai-Mao shopping mall which has an air conditioning, then enjoyed cooling day. You can stay here all day, just eating and shopping whatever you want.

Except chilling with your family in an air-conditioned shopping mall, the most popular way to cool off is to take a dip. The ocean is always cooler than the summer, and rivers also are a good place to wash away the heat, especially in the montains; I also like to go mountain-climbing with my kids. It provides a great escape from the hot city. Maybe you could splash out for a trip to a water park in summer vacation.

I think that if you can't get out of the city, then ate ice-cream or shaved-ice will be the best way to cool down from inside out. Or you could relax in swimming pool. So, what's you plan in this summer vacation?

More Than a Pet

I remember that I had seen a Japanese movie from movie theater about five years ago-The Quill, a tear-jerking movie based on the true story of a loyal Labrador guide dog whose life was dedicated to helping the visually challenged. After I saw this movies, it was really touching my heart; how loyal and lovely dog it is! I think that dogs are the best friend of us. No matter how its master treat it, it always shakes its tail and stands by your side, as if it is a innocent child.

This Japanese film not only started a fad in Taiwan for Labrador puppies but also raised awareness of the issue of guide dogs in our society. Guide dogs are professionally trained service animals. The most common breeds are Labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, and German shepherds.

After the film was shown, then a lot of people started to raise Labrador. After that, we can see more and more Larbrador dogs, golden retrievers have been abandoned due to their master have not enough space to raise them or didn't have patience, just because their impulses. How come so cruel
to do with them! They are not just a pet, they are like your child. I think government should make a law to prevent it.

Why They Took So Long to do it?

Today was my first interview since I have been laid off last month. I got up at 7:00 in the morning, brushing my teeth, washing my face, dressing up then make-up. I looked at myself from mirror-I looked so good! Everything was perfect!

I arrived at the company at 9:30 on time, and they wanted me to fill in the application. After that, they asked me to wait just a moment. Of course, I should wait for the interviewer; after all, I have waited for one month, that's not big deal for me...no problem at all. I thought that busy was a good things. And time has gone by slowly, I checked my watch, it almost 10:30. That is to say, I was waiting for one hour. Yeap, let's ok. But if the receptionist could tell me what happened, I would appreciate; I thought maybe she was too busy.

Finally, my interviewer was coming, then he talked to me and asked me some questions, then introduced the job duties. I thought that everything was went well. After that, he said his director will come to talk to me for more details, and he wanted me wait a moment. Sure, why not! That meant I have a big chance to get the job. So, I waited and waited and time went by. It seemed that I was not exist.

I felt so tired, because I didn't ate breakfast in the morning, no water to drink. It's 11:40 am at this moment, then the receptionist finally took me to the meeting room, and talked me the reason why I have to wait so long. OK, I thought"Busy is good things!" Ten minutes later, he showed up. Everything seemed went well too, he seemed very satisfied with my experience, but when we talked about the salary, he answered me I have to talk with their HR; I have a bad feeling, it's weird! So, he went out the meeting room, then of course, I waited again.....after ten minutes, he showed up again and said to me that their VP was not in the office at that time, I have to talked with him, and will make another day for interview again. And the time was at 12:15.

What's going on? Why they have no right to decide the salary should pay for me? They even didn't ask me how much money I can accept it. Yeah, I knew that maybe that's their excuses, but they seemed not wise and I can say they are a little bit awful. I just wondered why they took so long for the interview? Something wrong with their HR process. It almost took three hours. If I was not qualify for the position, they wouldn't talk to me again and again. Maybe they have to compare with another applicants. Never mind, I can wait for it. No matter have chance or not! It's a good experiance for me. I have learnt something from it.

My Heart was Bleeding!

I didn't went out to buy some essentials over two weeks. I checked my refrigerator out but it was nothing in it. So, I decided to buy some articles for daily use yesterday. I usually ride my motorcycle to go shopping, because it can save a lot of gasoline fees, and you don't have to worry about parking space. Especially for the tough day within this unemployed time period. I have to try to save my pocket for everything. Even though I have a governmental relief payment, but I must save more money for any possible rainy day!

I have a lot of essentials have to buy; therefore, I have no choice but to drive my car to go shopping. Something happened at that time and I even didn't knew it. When I finished the shopping then got ready to drive my car...I was shocked! Because I found my car's right tire from back was totally damaged. Oh my God~! What should I do? It's 3:30pm in the afternoon, I have to pick up my children, they were waiting for me. I become nervous, then I made a phoned call to my husband. As you know, women are not familiar with the car things, especially for me! I am a Car Idiot! My husband saved my life!

Finally, we have my car fixed, and checked another tires for safety. Then my husband decided to change another three tires; of course, the totally repaired fees were eight thousand dollars for four tires. My heart was bleeding! When can I earn that money back!

I Wish I Have a Good Luck!

I answered a phone call that came from one of my apply for companies in this afternoon, I was surprised and excited. They made a appointment with me for interview the day after tomorrow. After a long... long waiting, I finally got a response from one of hired companies. But I have a little nervous, because I almost forgot how to prepare the interview; I had worked for my previous company since 1996. It's been a long time I didn't looking for a job. I even didn't have formal suit to wear. How do I prepare my interview?

To be honest, I haven't enough confident. Whatever! the first thing is I should calm down then check any possible information for this company from internet. Secondly, you have to know what you want and your capability. Thirdly, prepare any possible questions which interviewer could ask you. I think that is important thing you have to do.

There is a Chinese proverb to say "Know your enemy and know yourself, and you can fight a hundred battles without defeat." I hope I would have good luck for the interview on 5/14. I am looking forward to visiting this company. God bless me!

Happy Family Day!

The weather was fair yesterday and my kids's school was took a day off; therefore, I decided to go with my kids to the Mu Zha Zoo. It's been a while I didn't took my kids to do outdoor activities. Because I was busy in my job and have to go to school on Saturday and Sunday. It's a good chance I have free time to be with my kids. Because I was a unemployed person currently.

We got up early in the morning, prepared some cookies and two bottles of water, then I drove and arrived at zoo around 10:30 am, my kids were very exciting because they can finally see pandas-their Chinese name are "團團" and "圓圓". Luckily, there were not too many people in the zoo; therefore, we can see the panda not too difficult.

I thought that panda was the most cutest animal in the world when I first met them in the zoo, but I didn't like the zoo has time limit to see them, we only saw them about 2 minutes, and just saw their back! And you can not go back to see them again! My kids felt disappointed! It's really unreasonab!

But I think that the most important things was I can spare my free time and be with my kids, that's the point! Even though we didn't have enough time to see the panda. But we can finally see koalas, penguins easily, you didn't have to line up all day, just for one minute! When does the panda come into disfavor? Maybe they find a dinosaur!?

Is It Difficult to be a Parent?

Yes, of course. I think that it is really difficult to be a parent. There are some reasons to support my point of view. First of all, you have to set a good example for your children. You can't speak bad words or doing rude behaviors which you are not allow your children to do it. Otherwise, you will find out that your children are going to copy your behavior as well.

Secondly, you will never have free time for yourself anymore, when you have children. You have to get up early to do breakfast in the morning and take your kids to go to school; then you have to prepare lunch or dinner when your kids went home after school. After that, you have to do a lot of houseworks in the evening; you rarely have free time to do your personal things, i.e. go shopping, have a date with your friends and sleeping all day..etc. That's really terrible.

Finally, you have to pay more patience and responsibility to teach them many things and take care of them; of course, you also have to earn more money to raise your kids. That's really difficult to be a parent. Do you agree with me?

Bicycle Routes in Taiwan

While I was a child, the bicycle was a much enjoyed plaything for many of us. We all have one rusting away in the garage. But, when you thought the bike was pedaling its way into yesteryear, it reappears in Taiwan with a fresh new look and become more and more popular.

Fourteen years ago, the chairman of Giant Bicycles, King Liu, established the Giant Sports Foundation that promised to transform Taiwan into a "bicycle kingdom." With government support, the foundation has since helped promote cycling to become one of the most popular weekend recreational activities. Hence, more and more bicycle routes have been set up in Taiwan. And the Taipei City has begun increasing the number of bicycle racks at MRT stops, and even allowing cyclists to take their bikes on the train at certain stations. I think that it is very convenient for the riders can take their bikes to go everywhere.

There are many recommended bicycle routes in Taiwan, but the most recommended bicycle routes in Taiwan is Hualian County. It's called "Hualian Port Scenic Route"-five star route famous for its dazzling scenic variety. You will see the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, the majesty of the Meilun River, and the beauty of the Hualian shoreline. This interesting route also crosses paths with a historical railway. I love this kind of route, it's can really make you relax. So, why not ride your bicycle and experience it for yourself!

What would you do if you won the lottery?

If I won the lottery, there are a lot of things I want to do it. First of all, I would quit the job, and then go with my family to travel around the world. Especially for Paris, it's a romantic country; I hope someday I can go there. After that, I would buy a beautiful island, build a wonderful villa, and enjoy my wonderful life. Second, I would save some money in the bank for rainy days. Third, of course, I would donate some money to charities and save a lot of poor people around the world. If I won the lottery, I wouldn't worry about when I can find the job. That will be a great thing and why not just go out to buy a piece of lottery. Yeah, give yourself a little hope, it will be funny. God bless me!
